Concord’s Rhodes announces two hirings for 2026 season

ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University women’s soccer head coach Noah Rhodes has filled out his first staff at CU, announcing two assistant coaches for the 2026 season Friday afternoon.
Rhodes has hired Jason Koster and Brandon Nyagurungo.
Koster, a native of Palm Harbor, Florida, has extensive coaching experience on the club soccer circuit. He spent time with the Tampa Bay United—a former coaching stop for Rhodes—the Clearwater Chargers, Colorado Rush and Colorado Rapids. He was named the Colorado Soccer Association Advanced League Coach of the Year in 2024. Koster has his US Soccer C license and is currently working towards his B license.
Nyagrungo comes to southern West Virginia from the University of South Florida where he wrapped up his playing career last fall. He started 15 games and scored six goals while assisting on three more in his lone season for the Bulls. Prior to USF, the Harare, Zimbabwe native was a highly-decorated player at Indiana Wesleyan, an NAIA school. He was named a First Team NAIA All-American in 2024 and was selected to the NAIA All-American Second Team in 2023. Nyagrungo was twice named the Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Year (2023, 2024). Over three seasons in the Midwest, Nyagrungo scored 40 goals and tallied 24 assists.
The Mountain Lions begin their season August 27 on the road against nationally-ranked, 13th-rated Catawba. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
