Miller’s Nightmare Haunted Farm returns with new scares for 2026

LEWISBURG W.Va — Twelve years ago, the Miller family started a corn maze on their property. Since then, the family’s scary dream has grown into a harrowing experience involving dark chapels, escape rooms, and haunted mansions. Last year, more than 13,000 people came to rattle their nerves at Miller’s Nightmare Haunted Farm.

“It feels surreal, obviously. I did not think we’d be where we are now 12 years ago,” Berkley Miller said.

For Millers Nightmare Haunted Farm’s 2026 season, visitors can experience a completely new haunted house, a new town, a new merchandise building, and a coffee and donut shop.

“The whole haunted house is new inside. We’ve totally changed the theme -— it’s now Miller Institute, an insane asylum that uses the patients for human-animal hybridization,” Miller said. “The ending has a new town, which is the Town of Lore.”

Miller said they started tearing down walls as soon as the 2025 season was over in order to have everything completed in time for this season.

Family friend Scott Barkley has been working with the team since the beginning and said they plan a year or two in advance.

“We have a lot of volunteers that come and help out in the summer. We have volunteers that come and paint stuff and weed eat and pick up trash. It’s been awesome to be a part of it — a great experience, and you can’t work with a better family than the Millers,” Miller said.

Around 90 actors show up for work on any given weekend night in October, with many coming back year after year to scare visitors.

Miller’s Nightmare Haunted Farm is open every Friday and Saturday in October, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.

“We’re thankful that everyone keeps coming out and supporting this endeavor,” Miller said.
