Greenbrier East Spartan Marching Band hosts donation-based car wash
By Dakota Baker, RealWV

LEWISBURG W.Va. — The Greenbrier East Spartan Marching Band will be hosting a donation-based car wash on Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at AutoZone, located at 1414 Jefferson St in Lewisburg, W.Va.
All proceeds from the car wash will go toward supporting the marching band and helping cover the remaining costs of its season. It takes thousands of dollars to produce a show like the band performs each season. While students pay a band fee to help offset these expenses, some families experience financial difficulties and are unable to cover the full cost. In past years, the band has been able to help cover these expenses through funds raised at football game concession stands, parking for Healing Appalachia, and the band’s annual home competition.
Unfortunately, several high school JV football games were canceled this year, and both Healing Appalachia and the band’s home competition were canceled as well. These unexpected cancellations resulted in a significant loss of fundraising income, leaving the band looking for new ways to make up those funds.
These students have dedicated countless hours to rehearsals, performances, competitions, and preparation throughout the season. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to representing Greenbrier East are truly something to be proud of.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference and helps provide the band with the resources it needs to finish the season strong. By bringing your vehicle to the car wash, you are not only getting a clean car but also directly supporting these hardworking students and their passion for music and performance.
The community’s support would be greatly appreciated. So stop by, get your car washed, and help support the Greenbrier East Spartan Marching Band!
All payment methods are accepted (card, check, cash, Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App).
