Michael paces WVU at Nemacolin

FARMINGTON, Pa. – West Virginia University sophomore golfer Jack Michael shot 2-under-par to finish tied for sixth place to pace the Mountaineers at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational in Farmington, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.
Michael recorded rounds of 71-74-69=214 for his -2 score. West Virginia finished third in the tournament at +5 (290-292-287=869). Seton Hall and Eastern Michigan both shot 9-under-par on Tuesday to jump the Mountaineers in the team standings. Seton Hall won the event at -1, followed by Eastern Michigan at Even par in the 16-team field.
Nick Turowski tied for 16th place at +3 (70-75-74=219), Aidan Dortch shot 76-73-71=220 (+4) to tie for 21st place, Hogan Blais recorded rounds of 76-70-75=221 (+5) to tie for 26th place and Ryan Leach shot 73-80-73=226 (+10).
Playing as individuals for the Mountaineers were: Gabe Schmitz (75-77-72=224, +8), Harrison Thompson (75-75-78=228, +12), Michael Shivers (85-74-70=229, +13), Brody Burgess (77-76-77=230, +14) and Major Ewing (82-73-76=231, +15).
The Mountaineers will be back in action from Monday to Wednesday at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah.
