Dana Rakes

Much like so many of us, Dana Rakes is overworked. However, as the owner of Sweet Selections Bakery in the community of Harts, Dana loves the work that she does. If you live in or around Harts, you’ve probably come across someone who Dana has helped along the way. And from what we hear, Dana loves nothing more than to put a smile on people’s faces. 

If she can help it, Dana never lets anyone go hungry. She regularly donates to the sick and needy both inside and outside of her community, and she also loves to reward local children with tasty treats for doing good deeds at school. 

Dana does so much for her fellow Mountaineers without so much as a thought for herself, and is a shining example of the spirit of giving West Virginia is known for. 

For her selfless dedication to the communities which she is a part of, and for the kindness at the heart of everything she does, we are happy to name Dana Rakes as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
