Ron Miller
Ron Miller is a man of many titles–Reverend, Senator, Farmer, and Clerk to name a few. Throughout his illustrious careers in ministry, public service, business, and agriculture, Ron has been involved in just about everything coming and going across the Greenbrier Valley. His most recent project, Miller’s Haunted Farm, is a mega-attraction each fall, with a huge economic impact in northern Greenbrier County and employing dozens upon dozens of people. You’ve never lived until you’ve seen Ron in the DJ booth at the haunt, blasting Rob Zombie over the loudspeakers for young people’s joy. The haunt is the latest in a long line of his efforts to grow agriculture in creative ways.
By nature, he is a people person. Every time you see him, you’ll see that signature smile, which is as wide as he is tall. He has a way of making folks feel at ease. Over the years, he’s officiated hundreds of funerals, showing how much people trust him.
But beyond all those public roles, the titles he’s most proud of are far more personal–husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ron is a family man. Nothing pleases him more than a family dinner after church on Sunday. He often does much of the cooking, which is another of his not-so-hidden talents.
Ron Miller is one of those people that exhibits the spirit of the place he’s from. When you think of the Greenbrier Valley–its history, its people, its spirit–you think of Ron. He has helped define who we are as a people for generations. For his positive, creative, and compassionate leadership, we are proud to name Rev. Ron Miller as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
