Capito purchases home at The Greenbrier

By RealWV Staff,

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R, W.Va.) and her husband, Charles, purchased a home and lot located on the property of The Greenbrier last month in the amount of $1,056,360. The deed was entered on October 15 and recorded on October 31.

As shown in county tax maps, the lot is located along the famed Old White Golf Course, previously home to a PGA Tour and LIV Golf event, and includes a home. The 2,000+ square foot structure is on the grounds of The Greenbrier Resort and part of the Greenbrier Sporting Club, a gated, luxury resort residential community. Capito’s colleague in the US Senate, Jim Justice, owns the resort which is managed by his family.

RealWV reached out to Capito’s office for comment on the purchase but received no reply. The federal government is currently in day 35 of a shutdown with senators convening in Washington to try and reach a compromise to reopen operations.

Capito’s latest Senate Ethics financial report, filed this summer, includes two other mortgages.
