Herd volleyball earns team academic award
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University Volleyball Team earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Excellence Award, as announced by AVCA on Thursday. Additionally, the Herd earned the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll for being in the top 20 percent of NCAA Division I Volleyball GPAs.
To earn the Team Academic Award, the team must maintain a 3.3 GPA.
Marshall Volleyball is set to begin the 2026 season with an exhibition on August 15 in the Cam Henderson Center against Virginia Tech before hosting its Green and White Scrimmage on August 22.
MU starts the regular season on August 28 by kicking off its home tournament against Niagara.
