WV Wesleyan football loses close battle against Shippensburg

Buckhannon W. Va- West Virginia Wesleyan Football loses in a close battle against Shippensburg University in the rain. The 24-14 loss came late in the game with Shippensburg pulling away late in the fourth. The Bobcats were able to tie the game at 14 from a 23-yard touchdown pass from Liam McGuire to cap off a 59-yard drive. The Bobcat offense was able to put up 222 yards in total, with 90 on the ground and 132 in the air.

The Bobcat Defense were able to grab two takeaways throughout the game. Eudean Dobson picked off the Shippensburg Quarterback while also having four total tackles throughout the game. Davonte Courtney forced a fumble for the Bobcats and gave the ball to the offense with great field position.

The Bobcat Offense totaled 222 yards throughout the night. Jeremiah King led the bobcat rushing attack with 49 yards off 14 carries. Reimello Hyde gained 46 yards off 19 carries including a touchdown on the night. Quarterback Liam McGuire was able to scramble for 23 yards on the ground while gathering 130 yards throughout the air with one touchdown of 23 yards. Amari Colon-Brown led the team in receiving again this week totaling 57 yards on three receptions, with one touchdown on the night.
