Pastor David Fryson

This is a busy week for Pastor David Fryson. As Board President of MultiFest – the Mountain State’s annual multi-cultural festival, which kicked off its 35th year on Thursday – Fryson has no shortage of last minute details to oversee. 

Since its original inception all the way back in 1989, MultiFest has provided a friendly, family-oriented venue to celebrate diversity for all West Virginias, through art, music, education, ethnic cuisine, health & wellness, and cultural programming. But despite his responsibilities to the state’s largest multi-cultural festival, Fryson has also devoted that time to his community as a whole.

Fryson, an attorney by trade, serves as both Elder and Pastor of the New River Baptist Church of Kanawha City. Among numerous other roles – to say nothing of being a husband and father of three –  Fryson has served as a Supply Pastor at both Morgantown First Presbyterian Church, and Charleston’s First Baptist Church of Vandalia.

For the care he shows for his fellow Mountaineers, and for all that he does to promote love and understanding in our Mountain State, we are humbled to name Pastor David Fryson as the certified Real West Virginian of the Week.
